A biopic based on Whitney Houston is in the works by “The Photograph” director Stella Meghie. It will be titled “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” after the famous song by the singer. Houston tragically died in 2012 at the age of 48.
The Whitney Houston Estate, Primary Wave, music producer Clive Davis, and Anthony McCarten are producing the film. McCarten is writing the script for the biopic and has previously worked on “The Two Popes,” “Darkest Hour,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “The Theory of Everything.”
Houston’s career is full of powerful ballads and hits like “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “Didn’t We Almost Have It All,” “I’m Your Baby Tonight” and “Million Dollar Bill.” Houston also starred in 1992 movie “The Bodyguard” which soundtrack earned a GRAMMY as well as the record of the year for “I Will Always Love You.”
