Walt Disney Archives Released Rare ‘The Greatest Showman’ Concept Art

  • Walt Disney Archives released rare concept art of 'The Greatest Showman' that helps appreciate the lost art of hand-drawn concept art mixed with digital produced material in today's age.

The Walt Disney Archives released rare original hand-drawn art concepts of The Greatest Showman. In today’s day and age, concept art, construction, design and storyboard materials are produced digitally and delivered via a download link, hard drive or server.

The full-size canvas banners craftily painted by hand with watercolors filled the Archives workrooms. The visual wonder of the feature film seamlessly incorporates both hand-drawn and digital art.

The musical phenomenon starring Hugh Jackman as the visionary P.T. Barnum creates the space to dream and vision, sing and dance, and be comfortable and confident of who we are meant to be. Directed by Michael Gracey, the film stars Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Keala Seattle.

The Greatest Showman became a Disney addition through its acquisition of 20th Century Fox. The feature film is not yet available to stream on Disney+ or on any other streamer.
