‘The Good Place’ Alum William Jackson Harper to Lead Season 2 of ‘Love Life’ Anthology Series on HBO Max

William Jackson Harper will star in the upcoming second season of the romantic anthology dramedy series Love Life on HBO Max.

Love Life was the first original scripted series that the streamer renewed for a second installment after its launch on May 27 due to its strong viewership. Harper will succeed Anna Kendrick, who played the role of Darby in the first season that saw her journey from first love to last love in New York City. Despite Darby not being the focus of the upcoming season, Kendrick will make occasional appearances.

Set in New York City, season two will follow Harper’s character as he comes out of a years-long relationship with the woman he thought was his soulmate to then find himself back at navigating the traitorous seas of dating to find his person.

Harper is best known for his role as Chidi in the Emmy-nominated NBC comedy series The Good Place. He is set to star in Williamstown Theatre Festival’s Audible presentation of Animals by Stacy Osei-Kuffour this December and will narrate the forthcoming audiobook series Marvel’s Black Panther: Sins of the King set to release on Serial Box in January. Harper recently completed production in the Amazon limited series The Underground Railroad directed by Barry Jenkins that is set to premiere in 2021.
