Sylvester Stallone Joins James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed to join the cast of DC’s The Suicide Squad helmed by writer and director James Gunn.

“Working with this incredible Director on this astounding project has made this an amazing year,” the actor wrote on Instagram. “I am a very lucky man to be surrounded by such talent.”

Stallone will co-star in the upcoming feature film with Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Pete Davidson.

New supervillains will also be introduced by Gunn in the upcoming film, including Nathan Fillion as T.D.K., Idris Elba as Bloodsport, and John Cena as the anti-hero Peacemaker. No details were released on Stallone’s role, though rumored that he will voice King Shark.

Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is slated for a theatrical premiere on August 6, 2021.
