SM Entertainment has donated 32 million won (approximately $28,500) to The Beautiful Foundation an organization that helps young adults leaving foster care on March 17. The proceeds are derived from EXO and Yoo Jae Suk’s collaboration track “Dancing King.”
They plan to work with The Beautiful Foundation this year for an “18-Year-Old Adult” campaign where they will produce bags to raise awareness about the foundation’s cause. Artists within SM Entertainment will also contribute their talents to the campaign.
SM Entertainment has been using the net proceeds of the track since 2017 to support different projects providing music education for children and teens while aiding those on the street. To date, the company has donated 247 million won (approximately $219,900).
“All young adults, including those who are leaving institutional care, are the stars who shine a light on our society’s future. We will work hard to improve awareness about these young adults and to make sure that more people continue to take interest in realistic ways to help them stand on their own feet,” said SM Entertainment CEO Tak Young Joon at the donation ceremony.
