- The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival, which was set to take place on June 13 through June 22, has been postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, organizers said, “Despite the impact of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, preparations for 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival have progressed steadily thanks to the generous support and deep engagement of the entire film community at home and abroad. We are deeply grateful for what you’ve done for us, and we hereby apologize for any inconveniences caused by the postponement.”
Despite the fact that China has lifted some stay-at-home orders, foreign travelers are still prohibited from entering at this time. No announcements on what the rescheduled date or program has been announced yet but can presumably be smaller scaled.
The Shanghai International Film Festival was founded in 1993.
