Seo Ji Hoon, Noh Jong Hyun, Jeon Jin Seo, and Among the Cast of New Drama Based on BTS Universe

The new drama YOUTH based on the storyline of BTS‘ game BTS Universe has announced its cast. Seo Ji Hoon, Noh Jong Hyun, Ahn Ji Ho, Seo Young Joo, Kim Yoon Woo, Jung Woo Jin, and Jeon Jin Seo will play the members of BTS in the drama.

YOUTH is a fictional story but the characters will have the same names as the BTS members. The drama will tell stories of the characters through metaphors and symbolism.

Seo Ji Hoon (To All the Guys Who Loved Me, Meow, the Secret Boy) will play Kim Seok Jin a character who feels trapped in his life due to the pressure of his family. The character will transfer schools and meet the other characters for the story to unfold.

Noh Jong Hyun (Kkondae Intern, Life on Mars) will play the character of Min Yoon Gi a boy that can be cold on the outside, he has a heart of gold on the inside. But wherever he goes, so does the story that he murdered his mom and set fire to his home. In reality, he finds comfort in the piano after losing his mom, who meant the world to him. Then through his friendship with Jung Kook, who accepts him as he is, Min Yoon Gi finally acknowledges his troubled past and learns to move on from the pain.

Ahn Ji Ho (The House of Us, A Boy and Sungreen) will play Jung Ho Seok. The character is a dance prodigy who was abandoned at an amusement park when he was young but grew up to have a positive outlook on life.

Seo Young (Solomon’s Perjury, Girls’ Generation 1979)’s character is Kim Nam Joon, a boy that wants to have a normal life but is forced to grow up much sooner than the others due to his circumstances.

YOUTH also features new actors including Kim Yoon Woo as Park Ji Min, Jung Woo Jin as Kim Tae Hyung, and Jeon Jin Seo as Jeon Jung Kook.

“‘YOUTH’ will portray the reality of the seven boys in a real and refreshing way while also focusing on their underlying emotions. A deep understanding of the characters, acting skills, and chemistry between the actors with their roles were more important than anything else.” They added, “We completed the lineup with young actors and rookie actors who will maximize each character’s charm. Please look forward to the synergy between the seven boys and the actors that will complete the BTS universe story,” shared the production team.

YOUTH is scheduled to premiere in 2021.
