Red Velvet‘s Yeri is celebrating her birthday on March 5 by donating 10 million won to the infants and single mothers at Baby Box of the Joo Sarang Community.
The organization provides baby care kits and financial support to more than 100 single mothers who decided to raise their babies through counseling. Yeri will produce and send a customized special care kit to single mothers.
“I wanted to share and repay the love I’ve received for my birthday,” Yeri told an official from the Jusarang Community. “I hope everyone, including children, will be healthy and cheer up during the difficult time with Corona 19.”
Pastor Lee Jong-rak, the head of the Jusarang Community, said, “I appreciate the precious support you sent for single mothers amid the difficult economy due to Corona19. It has greatly contributed to the independence of single mothers who decided to raise their babies.”
The Jusarang Community set up a baby box in December 2009 and has protected over 1,847 babies so far. Through counseling, more than 300 families decided to stay together.
Yeri recently took on her first acting role on tvN’s Mint Condition.
