- From poetry by Lana del Rey to a collaboration between Jacob Collier and Tori Kelly, here's this week's New Music Friday.
The month is over but the music is not. While summer may have not felt like summer this year, the fall will be a perfect calm break to sit and relax. From spoken word to some upbeat tracks to finish summer right, here is this week’s New Music Friday.
Lana Del Rey – LA Who Am I To Love You
Jacob Collier – Running Outta Love (feat. Tori Kelly)
Jacob Collier and Tori Kelly have teamed up for “Running Outta Love.” The R&B, lo-fi inspired track features Kelly’s soulful vocals with Collier’s beats making it a great song to vibe to.
Junodream – Easy Life
Junodream dropped their first release of the year “Easy Life.” The band shares, “‘easy life’ is fundamentally about laziness and insecurity. Actively alienating yourself from the real world. Social exhaustion and anxiety can drive people online and there’s a safety in doing that, although you can inadvertently alienate yourself from the real world. You put on a different skin online and easy validation will follow if you’re willing to betray reality. But the music has a darker undertone to it. How easy do you want it to be, before it consumes you completely?”
One Bit – Luv U So
One Bit have released their upbeat track “Luv U So” with the vocal is based around a sample from Sandra Richardsons 1971 track I Feel a Song (In My Heart) famously brought to mainstream attention by legendary French duo Cassius.
