While everyone is figuring out the soundtrack to their summer (even if it’s spent at home) artists left and right have been dropped albums, singles, and live streams. The influx of new music is welcomed and while it can get overwhelming, New Music Friday is here to tell you what are some of the week’s top releases.
Local Sound – So In Love
Local Sound have been one of the bands consistently releasing new music. “So In Love” plays with upbeat sounds and a gospel choir making a perfect mixture. The lyrics are short and sweet but makes a powerful point.
The Naked and Famous – Death
May sound morbid but frontman Thomas Powers describes it as “a sober and loving reminder to value the life around us and stay appreciative and connected to those we cherish… this mentality feels especially important during the times we’re currently in.”
Ellie Goulding – Power
Ellie Goulding has returned with the new single “Power.” A sort of messy relationship song, it’s still classic Goulding vibes. The video was shot at home by the singer.
Passion – There’s Nothing That Our God Can’t Do
Passion has released the radio version of their song “There’s Nothing That Our God Can’t Do.” It’s a powerful anthem, one that is really needed as the world is still going through a rough time.
