- Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and more companies have taken to social media to voice support of the Black Lives Matters movement.
UPDATE: Disney has finally shared a tweet across its accounts sharing support for the movement.
In a rare move, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, and more Hollywood corporations are using their platforms to support the Black Lives Matter movement as protests are happening across the country due to the death of George Floyd by a police officer.
Netflix was the first big player to respond which prompted others to follow. YouTube pledged $1 million to organizations that address social injustice. Twitch named all the recent victims in their tweet showing solidarity. HBO updated the name on their accounts including HBO Max, TBS, and TNT to say #BlackLivesMatter.
TikTok, who had some controversy this week due to users finding some of the hashtags relating to Black Lives Matter allegedly were censored, also put out a statement in support and also address the bug in the app. Besides Hulu, no other Disney company account shared a message. Quibi also shared a message of support and added the Black Lives Matters hashtag to their bio.
