Legendary Chilean Latin GRAMMY-winning artist Mon Lafert teams with the most renowned artist in Mexico, Alejandro Fernández, for the dream duet “Que Se Sepa Nuestro Amor” (Let Our Love Be Known).
Directed by Rodrigo Robles, the elegant black and white video released along with the single harkens back to the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. From its classic plot to the calligraphy in its credits, every scene delights the senses, extolling Mexico’s place in the global artistic community.
Marked by a splendid musical production, this duet is an authentic masterpiece that expresses the singers’ passion for Mexican culture. Mon and Alejandro’s powerful voices are accompanied by traditional instruments–acoustic guitars, trumpets, violins, and even an accordion—as they share from the depths of their hearts and souls, a passionate love story in true Mexican fashion.
“I was not just writing a love song, I was thinking of a song of principles – from now on love should never hide,” says Mon Laferte. “It seemed to me that the song had to be a duet and I thought of Alejandro, the greatest exponent of regional music, and I am very happy that he accepted.”
Fernández adds, “Listening to a ranchera song in a voice as passionate and unique as Mon’s does not happen every day. When she invited me to sing with her, I did not hesitate for a second to accept Que Se Sepa Nuetro Amor!”
