Mick Jagger has surprised fans with the new track “Eazy Sleazy” featuring Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. The hard-rocking tune written by Jagger in lockdown features Jagger on vocals and guitar with Grohl providing his signature powerhouse drums, guitar, and bass. The track was produced by Matt Clifford and is now available on music streaming platforms.
“Eazy Sleazy” is every inch a song of our times, full of caged energy, a rock ‘n’ roll attitude and tongue in cheek, satirical messaging. Jagger sings about the life we’ve all been living with deliciously dark sardonic humor. He reflects on a world of ‘zoom calls’, ‘home in these prison walls’, poncey books, fake applause, and too much TV. With optimism and change insight he looks forward to the world beyond lockdown and the “garden of earthly delights” that lies beyond.
Jagger says, “It’s a song that I wrote about coming out of lockdown, with some much needed optimism. Thanks to Dave Grohl for jumping on drums, bass and guitar, it was a lot of fun working with him. – hope you all enjoy Eazy Sleazy”
Grohl added, “It’s hard to put into words what recording this song with Sir Mick means to me. It’s beyond a dream come true. Just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier……and it’s the song of the summer, without a doubt!!”
Along with the song release, an accompanying music video dropped featuring Jagger at home and Grohl in the Foo Fighters studio.
Regarding the video, Jagger shared, “Well, we just did it in the studio, y’know, we both did it in our studios, and we both just used little cameras, and I did mine first and showed it to Dave and said ‘Can you do something a bit similar, and then we can match them up?’ And then we matched the colours up, and matched up the grading a little bit. It’s still super kind of on the fly, and then we put the lyric video in, that together with that. It’s very much a home-made thing, in a way.”
