Award seasons has now kicked off and there are a lot of heavy contenders this time around. The Golden Globes set things in motion and it was a night to remember. With records being broken and uncomfortable moments, there’s a lot to now expect this season. Here’s the best and worst of the Golden Globes.
Awkwafina makes history as being the first woman of Asian descent to win in a lead actress category for her film, “The Farewell.”
Hildur Guðnadóttir became the first solo woman to win for best original score.
Shocking Wins and Moments
The animation “Missing Link” beat out Disney heavyweights as the best animated film.
“Fleabag” took the win for in the best musical or comedy tv show.
Ricky Gervais delivered a monologue that called out “woke” celebrities creating meme worthy moments and tension.
The Big Winners
Renee Zellweger won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for “Judy.”
“1917” won Best Motion Picture – Drama. While the front-runner, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” won for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Joaquin Phoenix won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for “Joker.”
