HBO Offers Hours of Free Programing to Encourage Viewers #StayHomeBoxOffice

HBO Offers Hours of Free Programing to Encourage Viewers #StayHomeBoxOffice

On a release sent out on Thursday, HBO will be offering over 500 hours of free content to encourage viewers to stay home amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Starting Friday April 3rd, content will be free to stream without a subscription on HBO NOW and HBO GO. This is the first time HBO allows this amount of content to be available without a paywall.

Viewers will be able to watch full series for free like “Veep,” and “The Sopranos.” While documentaries and docuseries like, “The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley” and “McMillion$” will also be available. Over 20 Warner Brother movies will also be free to stream Including “Pokémon Detective Pikachu.” However, big HBO shows like “Game of Thrones” and “Sex and the City” are currently not part of the free programming.

Starting April 3rd, viewers will need to download the HBO NOW or HBO Go apps or watch on their respective websites. Free programming will be available soon via participating distribution partners’ platforms. Viewers are encouraged to stay connected through social media using the hashtag #StayHomeBoxOffice. Free streaming will be available until April 30th.
