HBO Max and Quibi will present their streaming platforms at next month’s Cannes Marché du Film Online.
HBO Max’s keynote will be its first international presentation after its May 27 launch. WarnerMedia Ent. president of productions and business operations Sandra Dewey will be speaking on launching the platform “during an unprecedented time, navigating the evolving streaming landscape and the importance of cultivating and nurturing underrepresented talent,” the Cannes Film Market said in a press statement Thursday.
Quibi, who has had a rocky start, will also present but their topic and participants will be announced at a later date.
This part of the event will also feature a conversation between Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer of ad-supported VoD platform Tubi and Richard Cooper, Research Director at Ampere Analysis regarding the evolution of streaming platforms and where will they go next.
Jaume Ripoll, Filmin’s Co-Founder and Editorial Director, Richard Lorber, President and CEO of Kino Marquee and Kino Lorber, and Olle Agebro, Head of Acquisitions for Draken Film will have a panel speaking about innovative independent streaming platforms across the world.
A fireside with emerging talents Jean-Christophe J. Lamontagne and Kyle Greenberg, respectively Presidents of Montreal-based h264 and Brooklyn-based Circle Collective will touch upon ways to approach global distribution mixing the traditional ways with the new.
