HBO Max is set to navigate the humiliations and celebrations that come with being a thirty-something millennial with its acquired Spanish-language dramedy Perfect Life (Vida Perfect).
The series from star, writer, director, and creator Leticia Dolera follows Maria, Cristina and Esther who are in search of their place in the world as they realize that the plans they made for themselves did not accomplish long-promised happiness. Faced with a midlife crisis, the three women will find alternatives and make decisions that will lead them away from what society expects from them and realize that life does not necessarily have to be what they always imagined.
Vida Perfecta had its world premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival and was crowned Best Series at the Canneseries Festival. The series is the latest international selection acquired by the streamer to be made available to U.S. subscribers, and joins Max Originals 4 Blocks and Arthur’s Life, HBO Europe’s 30 Coins, and classics from platform’s library including City of God, Cinema Paradiso and Life is Beautiful. HBO Max and Movistar+ have completed production in Spain for an original second season of the dramedy, which is set to debut on the platform later this year as a Max Original series.
Perfect Life (Vida Perfecta) season one will premiere on HBO Max on January 21.
