- Greg Laurie has announced the cinematic crusade 'A Rush of Hope.' The virtual event will be in place of the annual Harvest Crusade.
The annual Anaheim Harvest Crusades may be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that won’t stop Greg Laurie from continuing to evangelize. A Rush of Hope will be a one-of-a-kind cinematic crusade coming to streaming platforms in August 2020.
The cinematic event was created in partnership with Erwin Brothers Films and will include messages from Greg Laurie with outtakes from faith-based films such as I Still Believe and Woodlawn and performances by artists such as Jeremy Camp, for KING & COUNTRY, and MercyMe.
“We all have questions about this movie that we are in. Is this movie a tragedy? Is it a love story? Or is it a comedy even? Do we win in the end? Why am I here? What is the meaning of my life? And what happens after I die?” says Laurie in the trailer. “There are answers to these questions.”
“We’ve never done anything like this before,” Laurie said. “The Covid-19 pandemic has completely changed all our plans, but it has opened an incredible window of opportunity for the gospel. Now, more than ever, people are hungry for something the world cannot give them. This cinematic crusade is designed to reach as many people as possible and help them answer the deepest questions of their hearts.”
While in-person events are still shut down, Laurie launched a podcast which received over one million downloads in its first month and Harvest at Home, the online church platform that broadcasts Greg’s live sermons, has seen over 45,000 professions of faith since the start of the pandemic.
A Rush of Hope will be available to stream on Harvest’s social platforms alongside the ministry’s other digital resources in August 2020. The official release date and streaming channels will be announced at a later date.
Greg Laurie is the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship with campuses in California and Hawaii. He began his pastoral ministry at the age of 19 by leading a Bible study of 30 people. Since then, God has transformed that small group into a church of some 15,000 people. Today, Harvest is one of the largest churches in America.
