Exploring his innermost thoughts and honest feelings about the future, CHANYEOL approached songwriting as a means to underscore his humanity and optimism past today with “Tomorrow.” Seeking to deepen the connection with loyal fans and music enthusiasts, Chanyeol prepared the new song as a gift to be released after his mandatory military enlistment on March 29.
Carrying the weight of hope in his lyrical delivery, the EXO member echoes of light found at the end of anxiety and regrets across an acoustic guitar-laced pop track. The new single was made complete with the participation of Amy Wadge, the co-writer behind Ed Sheeran’s Grammy Award-winning song “Thinking Out Loud.”
“Tomorrow” becomes Chanyeol’s second single released through SM STATION and signals a promising prelude to his growing music catalog as a solo artist. Most recently, Chanyeol ascertained his ability as a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and lead actor in the groundbreaking film, The Box. The film saw Chanyeol render his own written soundtrack, “Break Your Box,” alongside his unique interpretations and arrangements of songs from big-name artists like Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Mariah Carey, Louis Armstrong, among others.
“Tomorrow” is out now via SM STATION, SM Entertainment’s digital music channel and content library featuring music videos, live interviews, and collaborations between various artists, producers, composers, and brands.
