Disney parks in the United States have extended their closures. With no definite date, per the Disney Parks Twitter, the parks will remain closed as they continue to monitor the situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. The parks were originally supposed to be closed until the end of March. The announcement also mentioned they will continue to pay cast members until April 18th.
The Disney parks in California closed on March 14th and hotels on the property as well as Downtown Disney closed on March 17th. The Disney parks in Florida closed on March 15th, while hotels where closed on March 20th.
The news comes after Universal Studios and Tokyo Disney announced their extensions. Cast members and guests were left guessing since the month was a few days from ending and no official response from Disney had been given. This will continue to be the longest amount of time the parks have been closed.
