Fans on Disney+ will be able to see a new 30-second opening credit in Black Panther with images of Boseman as his iconic role as King T’Challa. The Marvel logo changed from its recognizable red to purple in honor of the actor.
Disney chairman Bob Iger has teased a surprise for fans on Twitter earlier in the weekend saying, “To all fans of #BlackPanther: watch the film on #DisneyPlus late tonight, for a special tribute to someone that was and will always be near and dear to our hearts.”
Boseman passed in August 28 from colon cancer. The actor’s death was a shock to all who did not know that actor was sick.
The Black Panther sequel is still on track to begin production and will address Boseman’s absence with rumors swirling that Letitia Wright —who plays T’Challa’s sister in the films— will take on the Black Panther mantle.
