ChocQuibTown Team Up with Lil Silvio & El Vega and La Ross Maria for ‘Morena’ in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month

ChocQuibTown have teamed up with Lil Silvio & El Vega and La Ross María for the new track “Morena.” Find the song here.

“Morena” is a song that invites you to dance and aims to highlight the beauty of women and encourage people to believe in love at first sight.  

The collaboration came about because of a viral video from ChocQuibTown and Lil Silvio & El Vega. While working in the studio on what this song would be, they previewed the chorus. and that part of the song went viral on TikTok with more than 40K videos using it. After it went viral La Ross María heard it and decided to jump on the trend, recording and posting a video of her singing it. La Ross María’s video generated a lot of interest from her fans, who were the ones who made this performance of the young Dominican reach the ears of ChocQuibTown.

“I honestly didn’t think I’d be part of this track, it’s one of my favorites and I think it will be a hit with the grace of God. It was an honor and pleasure to work with ChocQuibTown and Lil Silvio & El Vega and I can’t wait to be able to sing and dance to this song in public,” said La Ross María.  

ChocQuibTown made sure the production included their own style and flavor that identifies them, infusing the track with a contagious rhythm that makes everybody want to dance. The collaboration with Lil Silvio & El Vega added the extra Caribbean feeling that will make this song the hit for the end-of-year holidays.

The video was shot between Miami and the Dominican Republic under the direction of Squid and the Wild House production company.  

This is the first single from the new ChocQuibTown album, which comes after ChocQuibHouse, an album that ended with a four-time Platinum certification in Colombia, a double-platinum certification in the United States, and several Gold certifications around the Latin American region.
