Carrie Underwood and John Legend Release Wintry Video for Christmas Duet ‘Hallelujah’ from Acclaimed Director Randee St. Nicholas

Seven-time Grammy Award-winner Carrie Underwood and EGOT-winning artist John Legend let the magic warm the moonlit wintry air in their new music video for their Christmas duet “Hallelujah.”

Written by Legend and “All of Me” co-writer Tobias Gad, the original holiday ballad was brought to life by acclaimed Los Angeles-based photographer and director Randee St. Nicholas, who takes credit for various works with Underwood, Fleetwood Mac, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and more that include the late singer Prince.

“Hallelujah” is one of eleven original and beloved classic holiday tracks featured in Underwood’s first Christmas album My Gift released in September. Led by Grammy Award-winning producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Greg Wells, the country superstar curated the album to become a soundtrack for the holiday season, a much-needed message of hope, peace, of coming together with the lonely, and being conscious of our worth during these current times.

Underwood’s upcoming Christmas music special My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood will debut on December 3 on HBO Max. The original special will feature heartfelt moments and performances, including the duet with Legend and an inside look of Underwood recording “Little Drummer Boy” with her five-year-old son Isaiah. The MAX original will find Underwood accompanied by her band, as well as a live orchestra and choir, conducted by Underwood’s longtime friend, Emmy Award-winning musical director Rickey Minor.
