Fresh off their Festa celebrations commemorating their 8th anniversary, BTS keeps adding new achievements to their list. The GRAMMY-nominated group released their Japanese compilation album BTS, The Best on June 16 which hit No. 1 on Oricon selling 572,000 copies.
The sales count, according to Oricon, is the biggest one-week sales figure in Japan so far in 2021. According to Forbes, the album sold 96,000-plus copies on the second day selling over 650,000 units in just two days. It also beat their personal first-week sales record achieved by their Japanese album MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 ∼THE JOURNEY which sold 564,000 copies on July 27, 2020.
BTS, The Best features 23 tracks with Japanese versions of their hit songs including “Boy With Luv,” “Spring Day,” and their original Japanese track “Film Out.”
The group recently held their 2021 Muster Sowoozoo which had 1.33 million viewers were from 195 countries/regions, BIGHIT MUSIC shared in a statement. Their latest single “Butter” also hit a consecutive third week at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. BTS will also release the Butter CD in July which will include a new song.
