Country singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe will be independently releasing new music this spring. Reinventing her craft, Monroe will follow up her 2018 studio album Sparrow with a ten-song collection titled Rosegold.
Alongside a team of Nashville producers and songwriters, Monroe co-wrote, composed, and recorded each song to embrace the light and love in her life and share it with others. “Every move we made was instinctive, but it was also intentional. I found myself wanting to see how drastic the change from a verse to a chorus could be, or looking for places where the beat could drop out and then give you chills when it comes back in,” Monroe said.

Rosegold marks Monroe’s first independent project after releasing three albums under Warner Music Nashville. The announcement of the new album arrived with the first single “Drive,” which offers a preview of what is to be expected of the new offering.
“I had this chorus and idea when I went in to write with Mikey Reaves and Niko Moon on September 10 (my birthday),” said Monroe on her new single. “I told them my dad/other angels always send special songs on my birthday. It didn’t take long into the session until we knew we were on to a special one. I always imagine me singing this while driving on a desert highway.”
