Amazon Studios and DeVon Franklin to Develop Romantic Comedy Based on Michael Todd’s ‘Relationship Goals’

Amazon Studios and producer DeVon Franklin (Breakthrough, Miracles From Heaven) and his Franklin Entertainment banner are developing a romantic comedy film based on Michael Todd’s New York Times bestseller Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex. Michael Elliot (Brown Sugar) and Cory Tynan (Woman Thou Art Loosed) will write the script.

In Relationship Goals, Todd navigates relationships in an honest, heartfelt way. It tells his own story of heartache and healing, unpacks explosive truths from God’s Word, and tells it to you straight to help you win at relationships in every part of your life. From his plan for intentional dating in the age of social media to handling break-ups well to doing family instead of just being in a family, Todd tackles the questions we all have about relational success. As he candidly examines the most common pitfalls in relationships and the start-today ways to get past them, the book helps readers align their longings with God’s desires for their life.

Based on a viral sermon series by Todd, the book spent 13 straight weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers list and debuted at No. 1 on Amazon after its release in April 2020. The musical single “Relationship Goals (Revelation)” reached No. 10 on Billboard’s R&B chart.

Todd is the lead pastor of Transformation Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His new book, Crazy Faith, is set to be released in September.
