In an effort to advocate for animal rights, K-Pop band LUCY, AKMU’s Lee Suhyun, and esteemed lyricist Kim Eana came together with the non-profit organization Korea Animal Rights Advocates (KARA) to help deepen the strong bond between pets and humans through music. Released to convey joy and comfort, the artists shared the new song “LOVE ME, LOVE YOU” to stream and download for free.
“It is a song that features lyrics and cute melodies that look at the world from the eyes of animals,” said LUCY.
Expressed through the perspective of a pet, the message behind the song draws from the desire for a future where companion animals are no longer neglected or abandoned, and to help spread compassion for stray animals by offering a warm home through adoption.
The song is written by Kim Eana and composed by LUCY’s Cho Wonsang, and features a playful melody supported by the sweet vocals from Lee Suhyun and LUCY’s Choi Sangyeop and Shin Gwangil. The release of the collaborative project arrived with a lyric video that unfolds the story through animation.
“It was a very meaningful and fun work,” Lee Suhyun states. “I wanted to capture that the rescue and protection of animals is not a heartbreaking thing but a hopeful and exciting work.”
